CHANGEmakers: Kriti Sarav’s WhyFI Matter$ gives teens money skillsWONKedition's interview series CHANGEmakers highlights Gen Zers that are taking action to change the world.
Meet the founder of WhyFI Matter$:
Who are you?
My name is Kriti Sarav. I am 15 years old and I live in Chicago.
What is WhyFI Matter$?
WhyFI Matter$ is a global platform for teen financial literacy. We have podcasts (which I host) and blog (Voice$- teen's perspective on money) and we host workshops for underprivileged kids.
Why did you start WhyFI Matter$?
I started WhyFI Matter$ because through experiences this past year such as moving houses, and more recently the coronavirus, I needed to improve my financial literacy. This plus my love for podcasts resulted in what was first WhyFI Matter$.
Where do you see yourself and WhyFI Matter$ one year from now?
I hope WhyFI Matter$ is still going strong. I hope it can become a 501(c)(3) organization, and I hope it can continue to impact many many teens and kids. I would love for the podcast to become featured on NPR but that is in the way future.
