Change Makers: Nakul Anand’s Teen Greensavers supports the voices acting for the environment
WONKedition's interview series Change Makers showcases the Gen Z stars taking action to change the world.
Who are you?
I am Nakul Anand and 15 years old. I live in Delhi, India, and am a student of Ahlcon International School.
What’s Teen Greensavers?
Teen Greensavers is an organization dedicated to improving the environment and bringing a change for the better world. We are a few of those thousand adolescents who have a vision for tomorrow and believe that with it a stronger foundation for an improved future can be laid.
Why did you start Teen Greensavers?
It all began with the competition Youth4Earth. My friends and I started researching and unexpected results greeted us. It motivated us to change for better and we decided to bring together and give a platform to all the voices who are concerned about our environment.
Where do you see yourself and Teen Greensavers one year from now?
We never planned to come this far to be honest. It’s about taking small steps at a time and never stop working. I don't know what changes will be there as 12 months is a long time, but I want this organization to grow. The world will change but not in one day or one week. However if we inspire the young minds to care for Mother Earth, then I believe, our motive for a change can be accomplished.
Slowly and gradually the world works,
Being patient is the key.
Change is happening, of course
Just waiting for everyone to see.
